Andrew Graham-Dixon的纪录片总是特别爱夸大社会大事件在艺术史演变中的作用，本片也不例外。看完本部纪录片，对俄罗斯不甚了解的观众们大概只会把俄罗斯艺术归类为三个阶段：（1）蒙昧无知拜大神搞宗教种土豆唱山歌阶段；（2）全面模仿欧洲媚俗烧钱死劳工阶段；（3）马教横扫下工业产品流水线阶段，中间顺道穿插几个精神病醉鬼来过渡。
